An Interview With TL Shively
1) Tell us about your book
Spider’s Awakening is a story of a goddess brought up under the cruel boot of Ares. Unloved and unwanted by the only family she had ever known, she never believed there was anything more out there for her. Her only friend was a spider she called Scratch, until a man from the stars showed her a life she never thought possible. A family that loved and cherished her.
Now she must fight to keep the family she had barely gotten to know, from the ones who had brought them together.
2) How long have you been writing?
Can’t remember a time when I didn’t have a story in my head just wanting to get out. I started writing my first series, The Sanctuary Guardians, over 19 years ago. They were actually created when I was in grade school and have always played major roles in my stories.
3) Tell us something unique about your main character.
Calista is a goddess who grew up believing she was Greek only to find out she was actually an Atlantean Goddess.
4) Is your book part of a series?
When I first started writing the book I had planned on it being a standalone but after some feedback from my beta readers and editor, decided to make it a series.
5) What is your favorite thing about being an author?
My most favorite thing is bringing my stories to life, from my head down onto paper.
6) What does the future hold for you?
More books, hopefully audio as well and even a Guardian coloring book. The future is full of possibilities and I plan to do as much as possible.
T.L. Shively is an award-winning author who plays mom and wife with a daytime job but after hours you will find her knee-deep in gnomes, fairies, and all things fantasy. She loves when her imagination takes her places she hasn't been, then she writes them down on paper so she can share them.
She loves playing RPG games both online and game systems, her favorite is Kingdom Hearts. Could have something to do with her Disney addiction. She loves to draw as well as write although she is no Picasso, she also loves anything artsy and crafty.
If you love fantasy then you are in good company
