Blackrock by S. K. Gregory - Out December 5th

1/12/2017

Picture
Blackrock isn't like any other town - Kasey is about to find that out, the hard way.

Hexes, witches and an ancient curse? It sounds like a fantasy story to army brat, Kasey, but when she witnesses magic with her own eyes, she can't deny that Blackrock is a weird place to live. It's about to get even weirder.
The descendants of the witch who cursed the town, are after a black quartz crystal which stores enormous power. If the wrong one gets their hands on it, then the town is in big trouble. Flirty goth, Ash is one possible descendant, and the most powerful witch in town. He's also starring in most of Kasey's dreams lately, whether she likes it or not.
Viola is snarky, powerful and vengeful. She takes an instant dislike to Kasey, and as a potential descendant, she is not someone to make an enemy of.
When Kasey gets her hands on the crystal, it's up to her to decide who gets it. But if she makes the wrong choice, it could get her killed.

1) Tell us about your book

I started writing Blackrock over ten years ago, then it was put aside until last year. Kasey is an army brat, dragged around the country by her dad. She moves to Blackrock and discovers it is not an ordinary town. Kasey has moved around so much that she has started classifying her classmates into easily identifiable groups - nerds, goths, jocks. Blackrock High works a little differently. The different groups have to work together to survive the town.

2) Are there more books planned in the series?

Yes, I have ideas for three books. This book is very much the introduction to Blackrock, there is a lot more to come.

3) Who was your favorite character to write?

Probably Ash. He's a witch/goth, who has a crush on Kasey. The dialogue between the two of them was fun to write.

You can buy Blackrock now for only 99c.
